Maine is a four-season playground for the whole family! We have hundreds of charming farms, where you can pick strawberries or apples, and pet goats, ponies, sheep and more. There are also four different children’s museums in Portland, Augusta, Bangor, and Rockland made specifically to help your kids learn and explore our state in a creative environment.
Get A Taste of Maine
To get the whole family outside, there are great beaches along the coast made for hiking and sandcastle building in the summer. In the winter, the skiing can’t be beat in the mountains! With over 500,000 acres of preserved land, hiking in Maine is an adventure you can take part in no matter where you are in the state. There are great spots for beach hiking along the coast, and breathtaking views of waterfalls and cascades in Western Maine. If biking is more your thing, the Kennebec River Rail Trail is a family friendly trail spanning 6.5 miles through the towns of Augusta, Hallowell, Farmingdale and Gardiner.
On top of all these outdoor activities, we also have whale watching, camping, paddling, water parks and much more for kids of all ages! Through fall, winter, spring, and summer there is always something fun to do no matter what region you’re in!
