The MTA is a membership-based non profit organization established in 1922 with a mission to lead the growth and sustainability of Maine's tourism businesses. In addition, MTA operates the 7 Maine State Visitor Information Centers on behalf of the Maine Office of Tourism. MTA also have a Workforce Development Department and a full-time lobbyist to be your voice at the State House.
Who can become a member with the Maine Tourism Association?
We welcome anyone with a tie to the tourism industry to be a member with us. Whether you are a real estate agent that works with visitors to find their dream home in Maine, a seasonal or year-round restaurant, a B&B, whitewater rafting guide or anyone in between. We welcome you to reach out and see if you’d be a good fit for membership.
How do I sign up to become a MTA member?

What’s the difference between the Maine Tourism Association and the Maine Office of Tourism?
This is a very common question! We have created a page that outlines the difference you can find here.

If I don’t place brochures in the Visitor Centers will I still have a presence in them?
Yes! We have digital kiosks available in four of the Maine State Visitor Information Centers: Kittery, Yarmouth, Hampden North, and Houlton. We also have one in the Kennebunk North Rest Stop. These digital kiosks will feature your listing from our website and allow visitors to send information from the kiosks directly to their mobile device. Our travel counselors also do an excellent job recommending all of our member-partners to visitors even if they do not have brochures in our centers.
Also, if you do not want to print multiple brochures, you can print just one and we will place it behind the plexiglass on the brochure racks with a QR code directing visitors to your website for more information.
