Housekeeper
• Reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Operations Manager for morning meeting to receive work assignments and other pertinent information for the day’s activities.
• Perform cleaning duties to the Inns standards for all tasks and areas assigned by housekeeping manager
• Clean assigned rooms-replenish supplies, dishware, linens, paper goods, soaps, etc.
• Change bed linens on every checkouts and stayovers accordingly to daily assignment paper
• Change blankets, pillow shams and bed wraps as needed
• Follows all procedures for housekeeping items, including lost and found and recycling used soaps in the correct bins
• Keeps a clean and neat work space, caddy and closet. Log folders and closet slips are filled out daily, trash is removed, used soaps are put in bin and brought to housekeeping office when full, spray bottles are half way full or more, dirty rags are bagged up and put in blue bags or brought down to the dirty rag bin
• Closable drinks are allowed in closets and laundry room but must be taken care of and removed at the end of your shift
• Communicate problems and/or important issues to the housekeeping manager and not to their coworkers
• Creates a comfortable, friendly and respectful atmosphere among others including their coworkers
• Must productively work with others and alone
• Expected to help other team member if needed
• Must complete their assigned rooms in a timely manner and as requested
• Gives prior notice for time off requests
• Follows the housekeeping schedule accordingly and receives prior approval for any last minute requests
• If sick or cannot make it in for any reason, you must call the Housekeeping manager and/or the General manager and if neither are responsive, you must call The Beachmere Inn to be directed to the housekeeping extension and leave a message including your phone number to be reached at. Same procedure applies if you are running more than 15 minutes late.
• Housekeeping is not exempt from laundry. Everyone is expected to take part in the laundry room when needed or request by housekeeping manager on duty. Those who are scheduled in laundry are also not exempt from housekeeping.
• If you are scheduled before 9am and the manager is not present, you must be folding laundry or cleaning public spaces.
• A 30 minute lunch is required if you are scheduled for a 6 hr work shift or more and must inform your dept manager if you will be leaving property during your lunch.
