First Fridays in Downtown Bangor is a MUST visit event. This celebration in our historic downtown shopping, dining, arts and commerce district is held on the first Friday of every month and gives visitors a chance to shop, drink, participate in activities, see art, listen to music and eat late into the evening.

First Friday December features the holiday tree lighting celebration in West Market Square with caroling from the Bangor Area Youth Choruses and a performance by the cast of Miracle on 34th Street at the Penobscot Theatre Company.

After the lighting Maine Discovery Museum will be offering childcare until 8 so parents can shop downtown in stores staying open late to help you get a jump on the holidays.
