LD 1683 An Act To Amend the Registered Maine Guide Background Check Requirement, Sen. Davis (R-Piscataquis)
This bill establishes an exception to the requirement that a registered Maine guide applicant and a guide licensed by IFW submit to a background check when the applicant or guide holds a license of the type for which passage of a background check is a prerequisite to obtain that type of guide license. It also extends the term of a guide license from 3 to 5 years. It has been passed and awaits funding by the Appropriations Committee. It will be finalized if there is a Special Session.
