Welcome to Old Canada Road National Scenic Byway

Amazing waterways and spectacular mountain vistas welcome visitors to the Old Canada Road National Scenic Byway.  Visitors can find lovely turnouts and rest areas with many bilingual informational panels and historic markers. Come see wildlife in its natural habitat.

Find a hiking trail from the hillside trails at the gateway at Robbins Hill in Solon to the mountains closer to the Canadian border. With so many scenic views and a variety of recreational opportunities, you’ll want to come back again! There’s a rich culture and history the upper Kennebec Valley that helps tell the story of Maine!

This Byway is one of only 125 national scenic byways in the country with just enough Tourism amenities to offer a touch of modern polish to the traditionally rustic nature of the area. Quaint villages along the way provide lodging, eating, outfitting, and guiding services for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.
