The sardine carrier JACOB PIKE hauled up at Portland Shipyard to replace some planks and annual maintenance.

After several years in storage LION’S WHELP was refurbished this winter and launched at Portland Yacht Service this month. She is preparing for a trip to Labrador this summer.

At Morgan Bay Boats in Frankfort they are almost ready to launch their third Morgan Bay 43. She has been finished out as a sportfisherman and they are just putting final touches to her.

At Brooklin Boat Yard in Brooklin they are full speed ahead on their two biggest projects this winter. On the right is a Hinckley Sou’Wester 53, which is having her interior put in. Her deck is under construction at Front Street Shipyard in Belfast and will be arriving soon.

One of my favorite places to stop is at BlueJacket Shipcrafts in Searsport. They are nearing completion of the cut-away model of the whaler CHARLES W. MORGAN. This is the model they have put together making sure everything goes together as it should.

At Kittery Point Yacht Yard in Eliot one of the big projects this winter was refurbishing this Holland 38 tunaboat, which hails from Ogunquit. They refinished the hull and top and did some interior refinishing. She was ready to be hauled outside so they could put her tower back on.

At Holland Boat Shop in Belfast they have two 32s underway, one going to Bermuda and this one will be finished as a lobster boat for a fisherman out on Islesboro.
