Hike the last few miles of the Appalachian Trail to the top of Mile High Katahdin! Join Moose Woods Guide Service for a front country camping experience, as we prepare you for a day hike on Katahdin!
Your basecamp is a lean-to at Katahdin Stream Campground (KSCG). KSCG is the trailhead for the Hunt Trail, the final approach to Baxter Peak on the Appalachian Trail! A short one mile hike will bring you to Katahdin Stream Falls, and there are other options for day hikes, such as Sentinel Mt., Big and Little Niagara Falls or the Moose Loop around Daicey, Grassy, Tracy and Elbow Ponds!
The day of your arrival to Baxter State Park will be orientation and preparation for the next two day's activities. With two full days of hiking, we'll target the BEST of the two days to climb Katahdin.
Learn about the geology, logging era history, and flora/fauna of Baxter State Park, as you ascend Katahdin with your knowledgeable Registered Maine Guide.
Moose viewing at Grassy Pond, with the allure of potentially bagging some of BSP's most scenic peaks. Yummy meals cooked over a campfire, and rest and relaxation as Katahdin Stream lulls you to sleep at night.
Fully guided, COVID19 compliant, extended overnight tour. Group camping gear supplied. Home cooked meals and snacks provided.
