Transportation Services
Maine is served by Portland Jetport and Bangor International Aiport and through eight major airlines or their affiliates:
AirTran, American, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, United and US Airways
Non-stop air service is available to and from:
Boston, Albany, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta, Detroit, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Minneapolis
AMTRAK "Downeaster" rail service is available between Boston and Portland.
Maine is also served by Concord Trailways, Greyhound and Vermont Transit buses connecting to points south and west, as well as ferry service to Atlantic Canada.
The I-95 system, including the Maine Turnpike, provides fast highway connections from Kittery at the New Hampshire border to the Canadian border crossing at Houlton in Aroostook County.

Other important information for travelers: Maine law requires that drivers and all passengers wear seatbelts. Sales tax is 5%; lodging tax, 7%. You may bring into Maine a maximum of one gallon of liquor, one gallon of wine, and one case of beer per vehicle. Smoking is not permitted in restaurants or in enclosed areas of public places.
